Pack a recent photo of your pet and any important veterinary records in case they get lost or sick while you’re out.Make sure your pet’s tags and identity are up to date, and if not, consider microchipping them.

Keep a toy or two for your pet in the back seat or in the luggage rack.Familiar smells keep them comfortable and occupied.

Give your pet a light meal before the trip to prevent upset stomachs and be sure to give them water regularly.If your pet has motion sickness, talk to your vet about your options.

Never leave your pet alone in a parked car.The temperature can change very quickly in summer.
